Now that all but one of my adult children have left home, I am downsizing my kitchenware to better service MY individual needs as a senior, and to free up more storage space for emergency canned goods and other foodstuff.Things like oversized frying pans, large kettles, large air-fryer are just taking up space in my small townhouse kitchen, where I rarely entertain guests or family, who all live distantly from me now. So I am donating those oversized pieces of kitchenware and replacing them with smaller versions.Since my 39 year old Inglis stove only has 2 working stove elements and one of 2 oven elements, and I cannot afford a replacement stove, I am resorting to preparing my simple meals in 2-quaart crock pots, mini air-fryer and steamers. My first meal I prepared in this slow cooker was a hearty beef stew with garden vegetables in beef broth. Since I have some dental issues, I need to be able to prepare soft foods. I prepare the ingredients later in the evening, cover the pot, and let everything simmer overnight, when the electricity fee is lower. By morning, the stew is ready to eat, and sometimes I consume half the pot of soup, and reheat the rest the next day. It also is great for making mushroom and other "creamy" soups, without burning it.This slow cooker is well-made, sturdy, heats up quickly, is VERY easy to clean, takes up a small footprint on the kitchen counter, and is PEREFECT for my needs as a senior, but would be great for a student or young person living on their own. Plus, it was VERY affordable! This 2 quart classic slow cooker is EXACTLY the size I was looking for, for proportioned meals just for myself. It is PERFECT for making small stews, soups, slow-cooked sweet potato, and many other nutritious meals fit for a senior like me.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!I give this slow cooker 5 stars! * * * * *
