Let me set your expectations before I talk about how much I love this thing:This is NOT an item that you can submerge in water to clean (or in general). I would NOT recommend that you leave it on overnight or all day, especially unattended. It is not that kind of cooker. It can overflow if you fill it too much.What this cooker IS:Size: Small, but not too small. I would say it could serve two servings, and I think they’re pretty reasonable. If you’re trying to feed a big family, this isn’t for you. But if you’re living alone, only cooking for yourself and maybe one other person, then this is good! In fact, it’s great! As a college student, this is EXACTLY what I need especially since it doesn’t take up that much space (a small microwave is bigger than this thing).What You Can Make: I haven’t tried frying an egg or anything like that in this, but I have cooked ground beef, made hamburger casserole and chili, rice, Asian soups—you get the idea. After being turned off, it keeps the food pretty warm, so that’s nice.Speaking of Heat: There are three temperature settings: S, M, or L. (Think Small, Medium, or Large.) I’ve seen comments say that it takes a long time to boil water, but water normally takes a while to boil, and I don’t think this is particularly worse than normal. I would start it off at S, then increase to M and L as needed.Cleaning: DO NOT SUBMERGE THIS IN WATER. The manufacturer says it, I’m saying it—just don’t. I mean, you’re spending a ridiculously small amount compared to similar items on the market, and you expect to be able to submerge it? No. You get what you pay for. It is easy to clean as per instructions. Just don’t use anything scratchy because it can damage the nonstick surface. A dishcloth should be fine and works marvelously if you clean it shortly after use.Nonstick: I haven’t had any issues that people have described of the nonstick surface chipping off. Like with any nonstick, don’t use metal utensils on it, don’t use scratchy or metal things when cleaning it—just care for it like you would any nonstick.Things I wasn’t too fond of:The center has a bit of a dip which can be weird to cook with if you’re not used to it.When I received it, the entire cooker was covered in a layer of black powder. After looking it up, apparently that can happen as a byproduct of manufacturing cheaper items. Just wiped it off with a damp cloth a few times, once with some dish soap, and it was good to go. This is the ONLY reason that I am docking a star from what would otherwise be a five-star rating because that is a bit concerning that it wasn’t cleaned off before shipping.TL;DR:Size: If you want small but not a cup, PERFECT. If you want big, look somewhere else. 5 stars for my purposes.What to cook: Ostensibly, anything. Know for sure that it works very well with soups, stews, ground beef, and rice. 5 stars so far.Heat: Seems fine. Easy to adjust. 5 stars.Cleaning: DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER. Clean with something nonstick-friendly. 4.5 stars.Nonstick: Very good. Take care of the nonstick. 5 stars so far.Cuteness: Amazing. Perfect. 5 stars.Concerning black powder all over it when it arrived: Not a fan. Worked out okay, but still. 1 star.I used this at work to make some ramen and coworkers would ask if they could use it because it’s really easy to use and clean. Sadly, I was let go..and they asked if they could keep it there. Um…no? But the gist of it is that they really liked using it. Anyway, yesterday I made some basmati rice and just take a look at. This. Beau-ty. I’ve made it multiple times but this time I really wanted to review this so you could see how good it came out. I ended up making chicken tikka masala, but the rice was made in this. Also! I was able to reheat the leftovers in this. This fits discretely in small spaces at work, dorms, and I sometimes just bring it into my room when I want to make ramen while studying. It’s a no-brainer. I’ve read reviews that it takes forever to heat up water, but if you leave the lid on, it will heat up so much faster.My daughter and I love this. We love it on our counter where it doesn't take up much room. We have used it for make soup, hard boiling eggs even stir frying! Non-stick is amazing. Takes a little bit to heat up but not bad and once it gets up to temperature it great! Going to buy one for my daughter when she moves out.I don’t know how this is called a hot pot when it takes 20 minutes to cook ramen noodles. Don’t waste your money.This little hot pot is okay. It works a lot like a rice cooker. It is useful for hot pot if you're trying to save some money, but as other reviews mentioned it can take awhile to get to boiling.Be aware that this pot is 220V. Cannot be used in most home.I try it for the first time it’s taking 20 min for getting hot but not boiling on max level so disappointed go right back return binThe power is not as described 800 to 1000 wats. Thus, it cooks very slow like a 300 wats hotpot even setting at the highest level. You will expect a long time cooking for any dishes.
