Got this after Uncle Roger kept recommending it. I didn't expect it to be pricey but I love it! Very set and forget. Really easy to use and very easy to clean. The top of the inner lid comes out and every piece is super easy to clean. We got mold in it once because of forgetfulness and it was a breeze to remove. 5/5 little machineI don’t like rice. This makes it taste like a cloud of greatness. Brown rice. Not a fan. How this cooks brown rice makes me want to eat it every day. I am lost for words. Buy it. You can even soak steel cut oats all night and have it cook right before you can wake up to a ready to eat hot meal. Sounds great, huh? This is very good brand. Top of it’s game.I have owned zojirushi products for many years and have always been pleased. This is a good size for a smaller household. The only thing I did NOT like about this particular rice cooker is that there aren’t handles on the sides of the actual interior bowl to prevent burning your fingers when trying to remove it. This feature is in most higher end models.I've used this to make steel cut oats and they turn out perfect and fluffy. The warming feature is wonderful and keeps it warm but doesn't dry anything out or burn it. Super straight forward to use and easy to clean. 10/10 recommend. Also not huge on the counter.Brought it for my mom. She love itTakes a bit long for the rice to cook but it's worth it!I really didn’t want to spend $200-$300 USD for a rice cooker, and my old faithful was burning my sushi rice no matter how many times I spun the bowl during cooking time. Lots of rice cookers were cheap, but I didn’t want to move laterally and just have more disappointment in my future. I opted for this as it had many of the desirable features of more pricey units, although it doesn’t have a paddle holder. Also the reviews and care instructions gave hints that I need to make sure whatever is cooked is stored away and the unit be cleaned and dried quickly. I’ve been using this usually twice each week for a few months and have had no issues whatsoever. I am really enjoying this rice cooker.Works just as expected! This thing is honestly fantastic. Everything that I've made in it has turned out absolutely perfect and it is incredibly easy to use. As a 23 year old with a pretty moderate income, this was definitely a splurge but was well worth it. One of the biggest appeals is the size as most high-end rice cookers are huge which would have been a hassle in our small apartment. This guy is a totally reasonable size and it makes the perfect amount for me and my boyfriend and can hold enough for a couple more servings if we have guests or want leftovers. We eat a lot of curries, grain bowls, and rice in general, and I didn't fully realize how much I was missing out on by not having great rice to go with them until I got this. My old black & decker rice cooker was always hit or miss and would often leave parts half cooked while others were burned. The guides and settings on this model guarantee that nothing will go wrong.I have yet to try the quick cooking setting as I'll usually out rice on before I start cooking and the timing lines up great so the longer cook times aren't an issue for me. Brown rice, white sticky rice, basmati, and the absolutely AMAZING Japanese cheesecake recipe that this comes with all came out restaurant-quality.Highly recommend snagging this for an amazing rice cooker for one or two people, especially if it's available as a warehouse deal or on discount like mine was.I've always had rice cookers even when growing up, but this is by far the best rice cooker I've ever had. My previous rice cooker was a basic Tiger, at the time a little expensive, and I used it for almost 30 years. It made great rice too. But I never realized until getting this one that you pay for what you get, and Zojirushi is worth the premium.Pros: It's easy to clean, has multiple cooking settings, easy to use, remembers the last setting you used, so you don't have to reset, aesthetically pleasingCons: regular settings take 60+ minutes to cook 1c rice, but that includes the soaking time which is partly why the rice is so fluffy. The quick setting final product isn't as good.I have used several times now, in the short time we've owned it, all with great success. It is incredibly easy to operate. The results are perfect. The body of the machine feels solid, the bowl is quite thick, the water levels are shown very legibly for the type & amount of rice. The whole unit very easy to clean. I did purchase The Best of the Best Rice Cooker Cookbook by Beth Hensberger for more recipes ideas & tips. I would recommend especially for a couple or a small family. It has a small footprint which is a real bonus when space is at a premium. I may purchase another to have at the summer cabin as we will miss this small appliance. Overall, I am vey pleased with my purchase although I originally balked at the price, I am glad I went ahead with the purchase. Bought this product as the replacement for the 25 year old one from the same manufacturer.Instructions that came with the product is thorough and easy to follow. Most importantly thecooked rice, white or mixed grain, tastes better.
