Why Consuming Organic Parboiled Long Grain White Rice is Beneficial For You Organic Parboiled Long Grain White Rice by Food to Live gets it's name and a distinct flavor from the process of partially boiling it in its husk. To be exact, parboiling is a process that enriches rice kernels with nutrients stored in its inedible hull. The grain is soaked, steamed, and dried before being hulled. During this process, the kernels soak up some nutrients as well as flavor; That’s why Organic Long-Grain Parboiled White Rice is almost as nutritious as brown rice. It has less fiber because the hull gets removed during the process. However, it retains large amounts of B vitamins, magnesium, zinc, and iron. Long-grain rice is the same as short-grain rice in terms of nutrition, but it contains less starch. Parboiling removes a significant portion of starch from the grain as well. Therefore, Organic Parboiled Rice is very non-sticky and won’t clump at all if cooked correctly. Organic Long-Grain Parboiled Rice is the type of rice you should use if you want the grains to be separate and firm when cooked. It’s the right choice of grain for a pilaf or similar dishes. Cooking Instructions * Organic Parboiled Rice takes about 20 minutes to cook . If you want to reduce cooking time, you can pre-soak rice for 30 minutes or more. * Note that you don't need to wash parboiled rice to remove an excessive amount of starch. It's done during the Parboiling process. - Organic Long Grain Parboiled Rice cooks in a regular pot on a stovetop or in a rice maker. - In either case, you should use 2-2 ½ cups of water for one cup of dried rice. - Follow the instructions of a rice maker or bring the pot to a boil. Then, reduce heat to medium or low, cover the pot and let simmer. - Add salt and butter if you wish. Finally a parboiled long grain ORGANIC white rice. Thank You! Cooks wonderfully - grains separate well and isn’t mushy. Great compliment to flavorful dishes and casseroles. Texture is reminiscent of Uncle Ben’s rice.I tried this rice and though we enjoyed this rice the first time we purchased it,, we did not realize that it had a warning about Arsenic on the back of bag...which is not seen or mentioned before purchasing this product. I bought it again and the bag had a cut in it which I don't play around when it comes to feeding my family. I would not purchase this product again and would not recommend it to anyone. For some reason this bag also had a strong strange smell of plastic or some odd smell even without opening the bag. The bag looked as though it had been through some trials and tribulations lol....When buying organic I understand it only has to contain 95% organic products then what the heck is the other 5% comprised of? The first time I got caught up into the fact that I had some organic white rice but now after my eyes were opened after the second purchase I am highly disappointed. I'm always hesitant when purchasing food online but this makes me more apprehensive and then because it is a food item you can't return it which is very disheartening.I've tried several varieties but could not find organic parboiled. So glad I found this rice, because it taste's great. It's firm and separated like Uncle Ben's parboiled (my previous fav) but has a fresher taste. I make it in my zorijushi rice cooker, and it comes out perfect. Just bought 10lb bag.Love this product... Looked for years for it soooooo glad I found it... It is slow getting at times for but for my family it's worth it!!!Finding unenriched parboiled rice is a difficult task. I prefer my rice, and other grains, without synthetic B vitamins, especially synthetic folic acid. So happy to find this product, which tastes great! Doubly glad that it's also organic.Health and fiber.Even though this rice had a 2023 expiration date, it smelled terribly rancid when I opened the package. The brown rice I got from the same company was also rancid. Won't be buying this brand again, because I had to throw them in the trash. We love this rice. It’s always fresh and tastyGood quality as described
