I never thought I needed a storage bin for rice until one time last month, I noticed a small black beetle. Turns out it was not just one. Upon a closer look, I discovered there were many! I was so upset given the bag of rice was still very full/just opened about a week or so. The whole bag was infested. I had never thought I needed a bin but now it was obvious. Now I have a peace of mind - found this bin that holds up to a 30 pound bag. (There are larger sizes too but I was good with this one as it fit my cabinet best). The storage bin opens in two places - the entire lid or if you want to just scoop with ease, there's a smaller lid where you can open in the front - just to scoop. This also came with a cup and handle. Very convenient if you're storing beans, rice, or dried seeds. The bin is light in weight but not flimsy. It has a good sturdy shape. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that one side of the locking mechanism seems a little off. It closes fine but a few times I had to close it twice to ensure the locking part really snapped in. Overall it is perfect.This storage bin is great for keeping perishables air-tight. However, I thought the description said it came with two items, was disappointed in receiving only one. A little expensive for one but does a good job of keeping dry goods fresh.I got tired of running out of flour and sugar, and saw that the big bulk store had a 25 lb bag of flour for $9, when a 10 lb bag was almost $6 at the grocery store...I bake as a form of stress relief, and it's also my diet plan (feed those around me, they get bigger, I look smaller - perspective, people!). These fit the bill perfectly. The doors stay open while I'm scooping flour or sugar from them, and the opening is wide enough for even my 2 cup measuring cup to fit inside! Only 4 stars on "easy to clean" because they didn't fit in my dishwasher.Amazing! Perfect for rice and flour ? highly recommend!I purchased this in order to hold a 16lb bag of Hills Science Diet cat food - the small pyramid shaped kibbles. Based on my quick math, I determined there are 4 cups to a lb of this type of food, and that I'd need a container that could hold 64 cups. This is a fairly odd number for a bin, so I looked for something close enough. I tried two other brands of bins which all claimed to hold the appropriate amount in lbs, but neither came even close to holding that amount of cat food. So, this time I went based on cups value, and had much better success. This claims to hold 80 cups, so I figured it would have lots of extra space. I was wrong, but it worked out okay anyway. It just BARELY holds the 64 cups of cat food, with room for a 1/2 cup scoop with handle that I already owned. The 80 cups is probably based off of rice, or something else that compacts much more than cat food. But, since it still managed to fit the whole 16lb bag and the scoop, with room to scoop easily, I was happy. It's super easy to take the lid off in order to fill the bin, and easy to put it back. The flap opens and closes easily one handed. I don't think the little flap is as air tight as they claim, but it does have a rubber seal around it. It's mainly that the snap to close the door doesn't snap all that securely, so I think it probably does let some amount of air in. That's not too big a problem for me, though, but your mileage may vary. I appreciate that the bin has a small footprint, it fits easily on my shelf. It doesn't feel weak or wobbly, and it's really easy to clean. I do think it's a bit overpriced given that similar bins with similar capacity are sometimes about half the price of this, but I did need something pretty specific and this fit the bill so I was content with spending more.This are perfect for large quantities of rice, beans, flour etc. I purchased 4 and I am happy with the containers. The clear lid makes it easy to see and take as much flour or rice without making a mess. Highly recommended.Bought to store 30 pounds of all purpose flour and 30 pounds of bread flower! Will purchase another set soon when I buy sugar and rice! Easy to see what's in it, opens wide for measuring and it's on wheels to move around in my pantry! Exceeded my expectations! Bulk buyers don't hesitate! Great buy!I ordered this to put in 25 pounds of flour. I gave it 4 stars because, although it's advertised to hold that much flour, it didn't leaving a couple pounds short. But it's well made and rolls easily even on an uneven floor. The top snaps down tight, and is easily accessible.
