So I purchased this rice cooker for my new apartment because I love the brand. It is a perfect size for a small apartment. Highly recommend getting.This is the one. Don’t bother looking at any others, this is the one that will work perfect every time and will probably out live you.What is not to like. This is simply a rice cooker and people should quit over thinking it.Plug cooker in.Put required amount of rice into cooker.Put required amount of water into cooker.Push button to cook, walk away.Don't soak the rice and don't wash unless you want sticky rice.It's that simple.This rice steamer is great. It cooks rice fast and just perfectly. I like it so much I recommended it to my relatives. They are absolutely pleased with it as well.I am replacing my 20 years old Zojirushi exactly same as this model except that my old one has an automatic cord winder on the bottom of the cooker. I don’t understand why Zojirushi abandoned such an ingenious and convenient function. Too bad. One good thing is this new one makes better flavored rice.So much simpler than my previous ricecooker. I always wanted a zoJiroshi and now that i have one, i am not disappointed. My last one was a hamilton beach. It was good, but definitely a difference in rice cooking quality. And yes, we wash our rice. :)This is the best rice cooker I have ever own , easy to clean fast cooking ,and store food longer 5 stars ..My finger hovered over the buy button far too long. I'm so pleased with this rice cooker! Easy to use. Large capacity. Perfect rice! Things I've learned from my rice expedition: Always wash the rice. Boy, do I wish my mom had taught me this. Use the lines to measure the water. Use the rice measuring cup provided. Let the rice steam for 10 more min after it is done, then FLUFF the rice as soon as you open it. I never thought I would've spent so much on a rice cooker, and yet, there's no going back now. This is my 4th Zojirushi product. The only thing this one doesn't do is sing when it's done. Oh, and the directions do say not to use anything other than white rice in this. So happy with this!Opened product and saw warning as in picture. Would not have ordered if this warning was disclosed in write up. Unable to return due to no printer for return label. Pricey mistake.It’s very well made, cooks rice very quickly - like 5-10 minutes, which is faster than other ones we’ve had. Zojirushi is a solid, trusted name brand so it’s good quality. The Hello Kitty decoration is nice too. Everything is great, but the one caveat I’d mention is, the electrical cord is not a retractable built-in one. It’s a separate plug, meaning you’ve got to keep this bulky cord attached when you store it, or keep it wrapped up separately and risk it getting misplaced. Either way, not as ideal as a retractable plug, which is what other rice cookers usually have. Otherwise, it’s a great machine.Fantastic once again. Zojirushi brand rice cookers are the best. This is our second one as we abused the first one for more than 10 years with weekly use. Make sure no one uses steel utensils with it and clean it as per instructions each use and it should last 20 years. Perfect rice every time with no guessing and keeps warm without over cooking for over a day. Awesome!! Can’t say enough about this rice cooker. We tried instant pot but quickly sent it back and got this to replace our original one. 10/10Item works great and performs exactly as outlined in the description. It is largely designed for cooking short-grain white rice. It's absolutely simple, is very easy to clean, and works well overall.Only complaint is that the cooker automatically turns on "keep warm" mode when plugged into an outlet, so it has to be kept unplugged in between cooking sessions.I've read over some of the negative reviews on here and I can't help but think people didn't follow the instructions. Rice has to be left in the cooker for 15 minutes after the cook function is finished to ensure it's thoroughly cooked, and the default measurements and instructions are specific to short-gran white rice. Those instructions also work just as well for long-grain white rice, but for other types you'll need to adjust the water:rice ratio to get good results.It does what it's supposed to do. It's a rice cooker, people. I can't understand how some humans can't seem to use this thing, going by some of the reviews here. You really, really cannot mess this up lol. The 'only' thing I can think of that could steer you off course would be the usage of a "cup" of rice, particularly if you're going to max out this bad boy's 5.5 cup capacity. Not sure if you know, but a "cup" of rice is not the same as your standard measuring-cup's "cup". Use the measuring cup provided. If I remember correctly, it measures 180mL as a "cup" rather than the standard ~250mL. Looks nice on the counter, not too heavy, and not overly-dear. If you're reading this, just do yourself the favour of getting one.
