This steamer is ideal for when you want to steam 2 different things or a large amount of 1 thing, so would suit a family. You can use both containers at once for things requiring the same amount of time, or use 1 with a lid and add the 2nd part way through cooking it you want to cook things that take different times - such as potatoes and peas.It is fairly sturdy, so with care should be durable. It washes easily either by hand or in the dishwasher. Store with the lid upside down to take up less space when not in use.Happy with this product and would recommend to others.This microwave steamer is a really useful cooking aid. There is plenty of room on the two levels for the vegetables we need and they are cooked to perfection in a short time. The liquid gathered into the water at the base can then be used to make gravy. I haven't yet used it for rice or fish but I and very pleased with it for vegetables. The only downside is how the plastic softens slightly in the microwave so you have to be very careful when removing the steamer after cooking.Easy and convenient to use, you can cook a complete meal in one go. This is a replacement as my son took my other one when he left home. Have bought one for my mother and my other son as well.Useful but dangerous as the plastic is bendy when hot. Eventually bought another product, but used these for a few months till I saved up for a electric steamer.The compartment for putting the watering is a little too shallow...also should be mentioned that this is no used to a smaller microwave as all three items don't fit
