Yes, this beast is big. I had to rearrange my kitchen counter to accommodate it but it's totally worth it. I have been using it daily for 3 weeks and the longer I have it, the more I love it. Here's what I love.First, I love the controls. Clean graphics, well designed. Very simple, easy to use and read. The basket is big enough. This is my first air fryer, so I didn't know where to begin. I have learned that the surface dimension of the basket is the #1 feature to consider. Forget volume, quarts or family size. That's marketing hooey for newbies. The only thing that matters is the footprint of the basket. This one is roughly 8.5" by 9.5", big enough to cook for 1-2 people. The second most important feature is the wattage. This one is a robust 1700 watts and I wouldn't want any less. It preheats quickly and browns nicely. If anything, I've learned to slow things down a bit by lowering the time and temperature. The Ultrean is relatively quiet, heats quickly and circulates the heat efficiently. It's been great for cooking from scratch as well as reheating frozen pastries and leftover brats. I've virtually stopped using my microwave.I like the design of the basket. The inner basket releases and cleans easily. It's dishwasher safe, but I haven't done more than swish it out with sudsy water. I lined the lower basket with an oven liner cut to fit but I'm not sure that's really necessary. The finish (both interior and exterior) looks like its going to last with proper care.My only (minor) concern is the design of the basket drawer itself. When it's hot it's hard to pull the drawer out to check on progress and I've noticed that it doesn't always slide back in as easily as it does when it's cool. Only time will tell if that becomes an issue.Overall, I can heartily recommend the Ultrean 6 Quart fryer. I wouldn't bother with anything smaller, even for a solo cook like myself..The directions that came with it did not match the air fryer I received. In tiny tiny print, "knobs" are are used, mine has a touch screen. There is a numbered parts chart on page 8, but the Key to the numbers is on page 2. Directions say to push the function knob to select Preset Cooking. 11 lines later, it says to press "M" menu icon. To turn it off manually, it says to knob down the cancel knob. After 45 minutes, I still cannot find a cancel knob or button. #8 says do not shake or tilt the pan.#9 says some ingredients require shaking. When you remove the basket to shake it, it says to place it on the heat resistant holder. I could go on and on! I had to have my son come over to help me figure it out.I bought for size many will not fit on counter in place of my old one that was old manual dial and underpowered. Works great cooks fast just learning to set less time and temp. I got red and it is light red leaning toward pink.No complaints. Does what it's supposed to do. I've used it to cook pork chops that came out tender with a nice crunch. Chicken wings, cooked thoroughly also with a nice crisp on the outside. I also did a waffle desert with a custard filling, from COSTCO, which was phenomenal. Overall, this is an inexpensive Air Fry that does what it needs to do and easy to use.Easy clean up and food taste great. It was a replacement for our 2 year old broken one. It is far superior to our last. The larger capicty 6 qts allows more to be “fried” at once. The push bottom pre calibration is a revelation. We really enjoy using it.I've been using this air fryer routinely (2-4 x week) and its easy to use and very easy to clean.however, one problem I've noticed recently, the fryer basket is composed of two parts, the fryer basket and the basin which catches crumbs, oil, etc.the fryer basket locks into the basin when inserted into the appliance, however, after a few months of use, that lock has become loose and today when I pulled out the basket, the lower basin just dropped onto the floor leaving me with just the fryer basket and handle......luckily the food did not get all over the floor but this has happened twice now, and I'm afraid the lock is a poor design and after only 3-4 months of light use has become unstable! Its too late for me to return thsi product - but I will contact the Mfg Ultrean for a solution!UPDATE (5/25):After being dissatisfied with the basket unlocking itself and dropping to the floor, I contacted Ultrean customer service, they shipped me a new basket which clicks into place properly, but I'm afraid this is only a temp fix, as with the first one, I think once the basket has gotten a few weeks of usage, the lock mechanism will loosen and it will detach itself again! To prevent this, we've re-located the air fryer to a kitchen counter closer to where we do most of our cooking/prepping, so when we remove the basket it doesn't need to be carried across the kitchen, risking a chance of the basket detaching and catch-pan dropping to the floor, this will happen as the weight of food in the fryer basket forces the handle to pull back and makes the lock-teeth detach from the catch pan (Bad design). :-(Everything is cool it’s just when turning it off you have to just unplug it or leave the rack of air fryer open someWhat a awesome air fryer. Cooks evenly and fast, easy to clean and lots of room. I've cooked french fries 15 min and chicken (drum sticks, legs and breast's) all came out perfect in about 22-25 min. Where has this thing been all my life. Oh wait it just beeped my diner's done, gotta go! But thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope it was useful.Love the air fryer, customer service is beyond exceptional as well!!Had a small issue with the door not closing properly, still worked, but leaks hot air out the front... sent Ultrean and email sunday morning and had a replacement basket sent out, was told would take 1-2 weeks for it to arrive.... 4 days later i have a whole new air fryer!!! AMAZING!!!Have a tfal actifry as well... we will be donating the tfal as this is a far more useful product for our home!!Cooks evenly, is quiet (miles quieter than the actifry anyways!!), great presets and super easy to clean!! An all around easy to use air fryer....I love this thing!! Makes amazing steaks, bacon, hashbrowns, and fries and reheats food like new but the basket has started flaking of the Flon or whatever it’s made out of even though I have cared for properly waiting for it to cool down before soaking it in the sink I have not even put it in the dishwasher like it says it can go and they always use a soft cloth to clean i flan or whatever it’s made out of even though I have cared for it properly waiting for it to cool down before soaking it in the sink I have not even put it in the dishwasher like it says it can go and they always use a soft sponge. Will be contacting them about the warranty for the basket hoping their warranty is good as it says. I’ll leave another review once I know.Absolutely love this air fryer. It is easy to use and the food comes out tasting delicious. Wish I would have bought one sooner and so happy we decided to get the larger size (6 quart). Have cooked a whole chicken and it came out so tender and crispy. I must add one issue thatIwe would have had and I repeat would have had if not for the wonderful customer service provided by Ultrean. Our unit developed a small crack in the plastic that is attached to the pot with four little screws. I cannot honestly say if it was there when we received the unit or if it developed during the two to three weeks we have had the fryer. However we did contact the merchant provider through Amazon and within two days I have received an email from them advising a new replacement part is being shipped and is on the way. Hard to beat that for customer support. Kudos to Ultrean for standing by your product.I love that it doesnt heat up the kitchen and is quiet. Cooks faster than my previous jetstream oven. Easy to wash. Lrg basket is great family of 7 here. If any improvement could be made maybe a little smoother entry for the basket into unit. Very happy with my purchase.
