I practically wore the other one out!! I gave my old one to my son who loves to cook. It had been a return but it was literally like new. I always use steam distilled water which is a must since we have a well. My other one was probably a good 10 to 12 years old and was exactly like this one. I couldn't be happier to have the rice cooker too. Now I can throw out my old rice cooker and make space in my pantry for something else someday.I love this! I steam allMy vegetables!
