I had a previous rice cooker from Panasonic like this one that finally shot craps after 17 years. In my search to replace it, I found that Tiger was a brand many of my Hawaii people recommended. Only dislike with this is bottom of rice at times is brown and hard. I’ve added extra water to try and compensate for this. I needed to contact supplier for the spoon holder that was not included as listed and they responded very quickly with shipping the part. Otherwise, the part would have cost $3, not including shipping and taxes. Still out on whether I truly am satisfied at this time.i have been looking for a rice cooker like this for a few years, decided to order it a few months ago and i am very pleased with its performanceIt's a good rice cooker don't get me wrong; it does its job tremendously well. But the JAP models are built better in my opinion because they're made in Japan as opposed to this model which is made in China.This thing is the beatIt was a gift for my granddaughter. She went crazy when she opened the box and saw what it was.This is the third Tiger rice cooker I’ve purchased. First one was over 20 years ago. Second one was 1 year ago but had a need for an additional cooker for a second home. Best rice cooker there is in my opinion.I had a Black & Decker rice cooker for a few years and the cord shorted out and had to purchase a new rice cooker. Thought I would splurge on a nice one. And I chose this one on the advice of a friend. It does not disappoint. The electrical cord retracts and I love this feature the best. The rice comes out far moist as it has a fantastic seal and releases the moisture in a side pocket that you can drain and clean later. The cleaning process is super easy. So worth the price I paid and I’m sure this one will last a very long time.I was satisfied totally with this product.I don’t need to spend the extra money on the nice fancy ones because I just need a basic rice cooker so this serves that purpose, but the bowl starts peeling down every year and a half or so and I have to replace it. Would be nice if you could just replace the inner bowlThe seller no good They BLUFF the customer They don't post the product NO quality it's make from China if Tiger Make in Japan it's more and more different if some one try to buy it remember ask for Amazon shipping or seller shipping , if seller shipping you can not return for free , you have to paid for return shipping cost and will not get full amount back but better ways find The product make in Japan it's last longer and not waste your timeI bought a used 5.5 cup model for CAD$52.51. Box was pretty smashed as per the "damaged" description, I also expected "Large cosmetic imperfection(s)" on multiple sides, but it seems immaculate to me, which was a pleasant surprise.Compared to my previous cheap glass cover rice cooker, it cooks rice very evenly, looks nicer, doesn't sputter, and is very efficient retaining heat (it seems thickly insulated).No special functions, simple single switch, deceptively lightweight, non-stick, looks nice, the retractable power cord is also great for quick storage.It came with a 180ml measuring cup and plastic paddle. The plastic rice paddle is smooth which makes it easier to clean than a textured one.Unfortunately, it did not come with the inner steam basket from the description, maybe because I bought it used. And despite having a lower capacity of 5.5 cups, it is big and pretty comparable to a cheap 10 cup rice cooker.I had to replace two rice cookers and this one works the best. I had to get rid of my aroma brand because it couldn't keep rice till the next day due to it drying and an electronic Panisonic version that pooled water in the middle of the rice making soggy. I'm happy this just cooks the rice and keeps it warm. It doesn't have a lot of the fancier features like slow cook.quick cook or whatever but it just works. Tiger is a reliable brand and I wish I found it first.Disappointed That I found out I bought Exact same as my Midea Rice Cooker. Same identical design minus the Tiger logo name. It truly is identical design to the last grain !!!! They just changed name.Original Midea i bought lasted me 16 years. I will assume this new “Tiger” name will honor me the same.
