This book has many delicious recipes with easy to use directions. Also has many great suggestions and great tips and tricks also.Bought as a gift to go with the crock pot Have not tried any of the recipesNeed for busy lifeAs a home school mom with kids ranging from K to 9th grade this year, I LOVE my slow cooker!! We also have potluck every week at church, so I use my slow cooker a LOT! This book was an eye-opener, though. I had no idea you could make things like "Salty Almonds with Thyme", poached salmon, polenta and even poached pears in a slow cooker! I just recently learned you could cook rice in the slow cooker, so "Brown and Wild Rice with Bay Leaves" was right up my alley. Try the Chicken Cassoulet or Zesty Braised Beef with New Potatoes.I was surprised to find some recipes in here that had nothing to do with a slow cooker such as "Oven-Baked Kale Chips" and "Yogurt Flatbread". Otherwise, this is a great cookbook for people who either love their slow cooker, or are just getting into using one.I received a copy of this book from Robert Rose Inc. for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.Judith Finlayson's first 17 pages of this cookbook are worth reading. She has written excellent information concerning using a slow cooker and preparing the recipes included in this cookbook. The book contains recipes from breakfast to desserts. Each recipe has not only the ingredients and excellent directions for the preparation, but also variations to the recipe and "mindful morsels" which is added information about the recipe/ingredients.So many recipes sounded delicious. Making Cioppino in a slow cooker piqued my interest. Did you know you can poach salmon in a slow cooker? Pumpkin Rice Pudding sounds delicious too.If you possess a slow cooker and want more recipes to use this time saving appliance, I believe you will find this cookbook one you will enjoy using.*I received this for review - all opinions are my own*There is a lot of great information in this book! If you're looking for gluten free this is a good book. If you're looking for nutrition information and healthy eating this is a good book. If neither of those strike your fancy and you just like good food, there are some awesome recipes.Beautiful photos, loaded with information and tasty recipes that you don't need to be gluten free to enjoy. Many can be done on a stove top with adjustments, but for those who 'don't have time to cook' dig out the slow cooker and throw things in - eat better and cook without spending lots of time at the stove.Too American in ingredients etc I will be making a couple of these but probably shouldn't have bought it if I had known! We have made many of the recipes from this book. Very good healthy delicious meals. I highly recommend this book for those of you who use a slow cooker.I gave this book to my granddaughter, who is gluten and lactose intolerant.. She loves it!Love my other slow cooker book by the same author. This one looks promising, too! This author provides some interesting recipes but also some very beneficial words on nutritional values of many food items and their opponents.
