Fits perfectly but there is a certain way to make it do so, it takes some trying, mashing, squishing and sliding but IT IS the absolutely right one for my Mom's "avocado green" ,1978 pressure pot. The pressure release valve work well and just pops right in very easily. Worth every cent of the reasonable price.
